Coming to New York for surgery?
Let’s make the arrangements around it feel more manageable.
We help coordinate your accommodation, discharge companion and practical support while you are here, around the instructions from your surgical team.
Accommodation is arranged at independently operated hotels. PSS provides non-medical support and does not perform surgery or operate a medical recovery facility.

The arrangements around your procedure
Your surgeon
Sets medical instructions and travel clearance.
Your hotel
Provides your confirmed accommodation.
Your PSS coordinator
Organizes your agreed support and logistics.
Consultation
A conversation before you travel
You may already have a procedure date, or you may still be working through the details. Tell us what you know so far. We can help you organize the practical questions: where to stay, who will meet you at discharge, and what support you would like during your visit.
For a dedicated planning session, book our recovery planning consultation. We will talk through your arrangements and summarize the next steps. Your surgeon remains the person to ask about your procedure, medical instructions and recovery timeline.

Before you arrive
Start with your surgical team’s instructions. Once you have their dates and requirements, we can help put the stay around them in order.
- Confirm the procedure location, arrival time and discharge escort requirements with your clinic.
- Ask your surgical team how long to stay locally, which follow-up visits are needed and when you may travel home.
- Tell us whether you need accommodation, a discharge companion, scheduled support or transportation coordination.
- Share the room features that matter to you, such as a separate bedroom, kitchen facilities or access needs.
- Review your written quote, provider details and change or cancellation terms before confirming arrangements.
Your timeline
How long should I stay in New York?
Your surgical team will advise how long you need to remain nearby and when you can travel home. That may be different from the number of hours you book with a companion. We help organize your hotel dates and support schedule around their guidance.
Before booking your return trip, ask about follow-up appointments and any restrictions on flying or other travel. If your dates change, let us know so we can review the arrangements with you. Extensions depend on accommodation and staffing availability and may change the price.
A useful distinction
Your local stay is the time your surgeon asks you to remain nearby. Your hotel booking covers accommodation nights. Your companion booking covers agreed service hours. A 48-hour companion package is not medical clearance to leave after two days.
Three timelines to keep separate
Your surgeon’s local-stay requirement
Ask your surgical team how long you must remain nearby and when you may travel home.
Your hotel reservation
Arrival and departure dates, with room to adjust if your surgical team changes the plan.
Your companion coverage
Choose support hours around discharge and daily needs. Support hours do not determine medical readiness to travel.
Not sure about dates yet?
You can start a request with tentative dates. We will identify what still needs confirmation.

A comfortable place to stay
A separate bedroom, space for someone traveling with you, or a kitchen for simple meals can make the practical side of a visit easier. We help explore accommodation options around your location, dates and preferences.
PSS does not own or operate the hotels. Before you confirm, we will identify the property, proposed room category, available amenities and applicable booking terms. Room types and facilities vary by property and availability.

Recovery support
Someone to help with the practical details
Your companion can meet you at the clinic after discharge is authorized, help coordinate your ride and help you settle into your confirmed accommodation. During booked support hours, we can assist with agreed everyday arrangements, such as meal delivery, keeping essentials within reach and organizing transport to follow-up appointments.
Our support is non-medical. We do not administer medication, dress wounds, remove drains or make clinical assessments. If your surgical team says you need nursing or other clinical care, that must be arranged with an appropriately licensed provider. Please tell us early so we can help you identify which arrangements still need to be made.

Questions
Questions visitors are likely to ask
Do you own the recovery suites?
No. We coordinate stays at independently operated hotels. Your proposed property, room category and booking terms are confirmed before you commit.
Can I use my own hotel or stay at home?
Tell us your location and requested dates. We will check whether support can be arranged there and whether the property allows the planned companion access.
Can I travel alone?
Tell us what support you will have. Confirm the discharge and responsible-adult requirements with your clinic, then arrange the appropriate escort and support before the procedure.
Do you provide nurses?
PSS provides non-medical companion support. Nursing and other clinical services must be arranged with an appropriately licensed provider when required by your surgical team.
What happens if my dates change?
Contact your coordinator as soon as possible. We will review options, availability and any change or cancellation charges under the terms of your booking.
Can you tell me when I can fly home?
Your surgical team must advise you on travel. We can help adjust logistics around their guidance.
Can you finance my surgery and stay?
Financing is not currently offered through PSS. Your healthcare provider may have its own payment options; ask that provider directly.
