Discharge Companions in NYC
Someone to meet you and accompany you home.
If your facility requires someone to accompany you after a procedure, we can help arrange a non-medical companion. We confirm where to meet, the transportation arrangements and what happens when you arrive home or at your hotel.
Our companions provide non-medical support. Your medical team gives your discharge and recovery instructions. We confirm the practical arrangements, availability and any facility requirements before your booking is finalized.

You may live in New York, be visiting for a procedure, or be arranging support for someone you care about. We will talk through the practical details with you so there is a clear plan for getting home.
Your care team may require a responsible adult to accompany you after anesthesia or sedation. We help arrange a non-medical companion and confirm the facility’s pickup and handoff requirements before your booking is finalized. Your medical team decides when you are ready to leave.
What is included
What your companion can help with
Your companion can meet you inside the facility at the location staff approve, support the non-medical handoff, accompany you during the agreed journey, and help you settle at your destination. Any additional time or errands should be arranged in advance and included in your written quote.
Where the facility permits, your companion can be present while staff explain the discharge instructions and help keep those written instructions with you. Medical questions go back to your care team.
People may need someone to accompany them after many kinds of outpatient procedures — cosmetic and otherwise. Whether you need an escort, and for how long, is decided by your own care team.

Transport, extra stops, additional hours and accommodation are identified separately in your quote unless expressly included. If a 12-hour block starts at pickup, the journey uses part of those 12 hours. A booked time block does not replace a longer period of support required by your care team.

Discharge companionship
A companion to meet you and accompany you to your destination, with the agreed arrival support.
Transportation arrangements
Tell us whether you already have a ride or would like help arranging one. Your quote will make the vehicle arrangements and charges clear.
Support after arrival
If you would like someone to remain with you, we can discuss additional non-medical companion hours. The schedule must fit any supervision instructions from your clinical team.
Before your procedure
What to confirm with your facility
Ask your facility these practical questions and tell us the answers. Follow the medical preparation instructions from your care team — we do not give fasting, medication or recovery advice.
- Its escort policy, and whether a paid companion is acceptable
- Whether the companion must wait throughout the procedure or can arrive near discharge
- Where inside the facility your companion should meet you
- Any period of support required after you arrive
- Access at your destination, such as stairs, entry restrictions or a building front desk
How it works
How your discharge plan comes together
Step 1: Tell us your plans
Share your date, facility and destination area. It is fine if your pickup time is not yet confirmed.
Step 2: Confirm the details
We review availability, your facility’s escort requirements, transportation and what support is needed after arrival. You receive the service details and price before confirming.
Step 3: Meet your companion
On the day, your companion checks in at the agreed location. Your medical team decides when you are ready to leave.
Step 4: Travel and settle in
Your companion accompanies you to the agreed destination and completes the planned arrival support or handoff. Any longer supervision period must be covered by the arrangements confirmed beforehand.
A two-hour companion service does not replace a longer period of support required by your treating team. If you need someone with you for longer, plan the next responsible person or additional support before your booking is accepted.
Need someone to stay after you arrive?
Recovery Companions provide company and practical support at home or your hotel for an agreed period. You can request discharge and recovery companionship together, so the journey and the hours after arrival are part of one plan.
Questions
Questions people ask before booking
Can your companion sign me out?
Where the facility accepts a paid companion, they can complete escort or handoff paperwork appropriate to that role. Your clinical team decides when you are ready to leave. We check the facility’s requirements before confirming the service.
Can I book both services?
Yes, you can ask about both in one inquiry. We will explain whether discharge is included in the same booked period or scheduled separately, and show the total hours and cost before you confirm.
How do I choose the hours?
Start with your care team’s instructions and the help available where you are staying. We can discuss a companion schedule around those arrangements. Choosing a short booking does not change any requirement for someone to remain with you afterward.
Do I have to stay in one of your suites?
Companionship can be discussed for your home or hotel. If you need help finding accommodation, we coordinate options at independently operated hotels and confirm the property and room details with you.
Can I take a taxi or rideshare home?
A car may be part of your travel plan, but a driver alone may not meet your facility’s escort requirement. Ask your care team what is needed. We can discuss a companion who travels with you and confirm suitable transportation arrangements.
Do you stay throughout the procedure?
Some facilities require the escort to be present earlier or remain on site. Others allow arrival near discharge. Tell us your facility’s instructions so we can plan the right schedule and quote the required time.
What if my pickup time changes?
Let us know as soon as the facility gives you an update. We will review the timing and availability with you. Your booking terms will explain included waiting time, any additional charges and what happens if the procedure is postponed or canceled.
Is transportation included?
Your written quote will say whether a car is included, arranged for an additional charge or supplied by you. Please do not assume a starting companion price includes the vehicle.
Can you leave me alone when we arrive?
We confirm the arrival and handoff plan before accepting the booking. If your care team requires someone to remain with you, arrange a responsible person or additional appropriate support for that period. A short discharge booking does not replace those instructions.
Can I book for a family member or at short notice?
Yes, you can inquire for someone else; we will confirm the patient’s permission and the practical details. For short-notice requests, call our team. Availability and facility acceptance must be confirmed before the booking is final.
Is this nursing care, and where can you take me?
This is non-medical companionship. It does not include nursing, medication administration or clinical assessment. Tell us your home or hotel destination in NYC; other destinations are reviewed individually. If you need specialized transport or clinical support, tell us so the appropriate arrangements can be discussed with your care team.
