Questions Families Ask

Practical answers to help you feel prepared and confident.

Discharge times can shift based on clinical needs. We recommend building in a 2-hour buffer window for transportation. If you're using our concierge service, we coordinate directly with the facility and adjust pickup timing automatically.
Phone and charger, medications with schedule, water bottle, light snacks, remote controls, extra pillows, and a small bag for personal items. The goal is zero unnecessary movement in the first 24 hours.
Privacy, quiet, and accessibility matter more than luxury. A hotel near the facility works well for out-of-town patients. At home, prepare the bedroom in advance. Either way, minimize stairs and ensure bathroom access is straightforward.
Ideally, prescriptions are called in before discharge so they're ready for pickup on your way to recovery. If that's not possible, have a support person handle the pickup while you settle in. Never delay pain management.
Clear handoff notes are essential. Document medication times, any concerns, and next steps. If using professional support, we maintain continuity logs so every caregiver knows exactly where things stand.
Designate one person to handle all communications—facility updates, family questions, logistics. This prevents confusion and lets the patient rest without being the information hub.
